OFFICIAL - Menuconfig patch (please test!)

This (below) is an "official" pre-patch from the maintainer of Menuconfig. It's against kernel version 2.0.30.

Would users of Menuconfig PLEASE test these changes and report any errors to me. I would like to send this on to Linus as soon as possible.

I will send Linus an update to the v2.1.x Menuconfig soon.
